let’s take a quick glance at what happened on the reprise of april 8, 1975 …

.

MIL 030 004 030 - 10 14 0
BOS 000 000 020 -  2  5 2

MIL: Slaton, (W, 1-0) 7.2, Rodriguez 1.1; Porter 9.0
BOS: Tiant (L, 0-1) 4, Segui 1.1, Pole 2.1, Drago 0.1, Moret 1.0; Montgomery 2.0, Blackwell 7.0

MIL HR: Coluccio (1)
BOS HR: None

Boston opened it's season with Luis Tiant on the mound. Milwaukee opened their season by pounding Tiant.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
NYY 000 202 012 - 7 12 1
CLE 000 010 002 - 3  5 0
NYY: Hunter (W, 1-0) 9.0; Munson 9.0
CLE: GPerry (L, 0-1) 6.0, Buskey 1.1, LaRoche 1.2; Ellis 9.0
NYY HR: Nettles (1)
CLE: Ellis (1), Robinson (1)
Hunter dominated the tribe for a complete game victory. The Indians looked very inept.  Yanks bats
were strong against the Indian pitchers.  Perry couldn't get a break and the Yankees took advantage.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MIN 010 000 000 2 - 3 9 0
TEX 010 000 000 0 - 1 6 0

MIN: Blyleven (W, 1-0) 9.0, Burgmeier (Sv, 1) 1.0; Borgmann 9.0, Roof 1.0
TEX: Jenkins 8.2, Foucault (L, 0-1) 1.1; Sundberg 10.0

No home runs

It was a great pitcher's duel with Blyleven earning the win when the Twins offense was able
to finally get a few hits strung together in the top of the 10th.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CHW 000 000 000 - 0 4 1
OAK 000 000 02x - 2 6 1
CHW: Wood (L, 0-1) 7.2, Gossage 0.1; Downing 8.0
OAK: Blue (W, 1-0) 9.0; Tenace 9.0
No homers
Vida Blue looked to be in mid-season form.  He controlled every aspect of the game en route to a
complete game shut out of the hapless White Sox.
.
Two games were called due to weather (using the “as played” and they were cancelled in real life):
Baltimore @ Detroit and Kansas City @ California
Let’s take a look at April 9, 1975:
MIL (Broberg) @ BOS (Lee)
KCR (Splittorff) @ CAL (Tanana)
CHW (Kaat) @ OAK (Holtzman)
MIN (Decker) @ TEX (Bibby)
  1. Despite his awesome post season, Luis doesn’t have a very good card for 1975.
  2. Rick – I love the blog setup … good luck on the project !
