let’s take a quick glance at what happened on the reprise of april 14, 1975 …

OAK 110 000 000 - 2 8 2
KCR 002 001 00x - 3 5 0

OAK: Holtzman (L, 1-1) 6.0, Hamilton 1.0, Lindblad 1.0; Tenace 8.0
KCR: Splittorff (W, 2-0) 7.0, McDaniel 1.0, Mingori (Sv 1) 1.0; Martinez 7.0, Healy 2.0

No home runs

Both teams were quick about scoring. Oakland tagged a run in both the first
and second innings. Kansas City came back to tie the score in their half of
the third inning. After the shaky start by both pitchers they settled into
a groove until the latter innings. Holtzman gave up back to back doubles in
the bottom of the sixth before Oakland went to the pen.

Splittorff lasted threw seven before turning the ball over to Lindy McDaniel.
When the dust settled and the game was over Oakland couldn't regain that one
run deficit. The game might have gone extra innings had the Royals not scored
one of their second inning runs on a Ted Kubiak gaff.

and now a preview of April 15, 1975:

BOS (Lee 0-1) @ NYY (Medich 1-0)
TEX (Wright 1-0) @ CHW (Osteen 0-0)
CAL (Ryan 1-1) @ MIN (Goltz 1-0)
MIL (Champion 0-0) @ BAL (Palmer 1-0)
OAK (Holtzman 1-0) @ KCR (Splittorff 1-0)
